Application of MQTT Protocol in Internet of Things

Abstract  The HTTP protocol is build based on the Internet communication protocol TCP / IP. Because of the low development cost and high openness, many manufacturers are developing the Internet of Things system based on the HTTP protocol. However,the HTTP protocol doesn’t fit for the resource-constrained embedded systems or the network environment with expensive bandwidth.MQTT protocol has the advantages of low power consumption, environment. This paper discusses and compares the application of HTTP protocol and MQTT protocol in smart home. Results show that MQTT has obvious advantages in reducing power consumption and push technology development.
