Abstract Embedded technology is very popular in family and factory．The user-friendly development tools are necessary because embedded system is very complicated high technology．The paper discusses characteristic and application area about several kinds of the development tools based on embedded system．Because of the choice of the development tools due to actual need，it will be achieved that kinds of kernels in same embedded system cooperate with each other；the task of development will be finished smoothly．
