Abstract

The Symbol Error Rate (SER) performance of the non-cooperative MPSK communication system with mismatched roll-off factor of the transmitting and receiving square root raised-cosine (SRRC) filter is studied.Simulation results show that without the prior knowledge of the transmitting roll-off factor, the optimum receiving roll-off factor with minimal performance degradation ranges from 0.4 to 0.6.Furthermore,only insignificant performance improvement can be achieved by using higher order receiving SRRC filter with higher implementation complexity.

Key words

non-cooperative communication system / MPSK / square root raised-cosine (SRRC) filter / Symbol Error Rate (SER)
