A Study on Training Reformation of Applied Computer Talent under the Context of New Engineering Education

Abstract

To address the mismatch between computer talent cultivation and industry demands in local universities under the background of New Engineering Education, this study aims to explore an applied computer talent training model that aligns with industrial development trends and job requirements. Guided by the Outcome-based Education (OBE) concept and integrated with Project-based Learning (PBL) methods, a trinity model of "theoretical teaching-practical training-innovation mechanisms" is proposed. The reform involves restructuring the curriculum system, building project-based practice platforms, promoting industry-university collaboration, and advancing interdisciplinary integration such as “AI+X”. Piloted among more than 1 500 students, the model significantly improves engineering practice and innovation capabilities, offering a feasible pathway for implementing New Engineering Education reform in local universities.
