Abstract The popularization of open source software has brought a new breakthrough to the library system automation. The proposal of FOLIO project not only combines the concept of open source but also promotes the multi-cooperation to form a truly effective community. This article introduces the project from the background, purpose, organizational structure and operation mechanism of FOLIO project. And it proposes that we should focus on the cooperation in the process of open access to the real needs of users to promote the development of library services.
