Abstract Engineering education professional certification is an important measure to build China's higher engineering education quality monitoring system and improve the teaching quality of engineering. Based on engineering education certification, reform and practice should be done in admissions, professional training objectives, graduation requirements, evaluation of teaching quality monitoring mechanism and the curriculum for software engineering in order to clear professional orientation, highlight the professional characteristics and establish an effective system of talents cultivation.
