Abstract This paper presented the design and realization ways of 4ASK based on VHDL，which applied hierarchical and modular design and introduced the realization ways of carrier wave generation，amplitude modulation，amplitude discrimination．Finally，the simulation results given by MAX+PUSSⅡ and the test results given by EPF10K10LC84 indicated that the designed system was flexible and reliable．
