Abstract In the continuous development of telecom business situation, PTN becomes one of the selections of network construction
for telecommunication operators, with the characteristics of connection-oriented performance management and packet switching
technology. At present, PTN network planning, construction and development have become an important research direction for telecom
operators. This paper analyzes some key points of PTN network design in the application of telecom operation, including hierarchical
and subfield architecture, connection-oriented and statistic packet multiplexing protocol of transfer label forwarding, multi-service
accessing and load bearing. It points out the important direction of the future development of PTN.
