Abstract:In this paper,the wireless sensor network with uniformly distributed nodes in the disk network model is studied,by adding wired shortcut (or relay node) to form heterogeneous sensor networks with "small world" effect.Optimal configuration shortcut strategy using genetic algorithms can reduce the average path length and energy consumption,then can prolong the lifetime of the network.Simulations results show that the proposed optimization scheme can directly and quickly determine the shortcut (or relay node) position and get a higher rate of energy saving than HELMY’s research.
