Abstract：A designing method of TFT-LCD controller in the Embedded System based on Nios processor is introduced. With the Altera Nios II as the core part, frame buffer reading process is implemented by launching operation from Avalon master port. The controller is provided with master and slave port, can exchange information form Nios processor, output correct control signal and pixel data according to defined timing, and then drive the LCD for the purpose of displaying text and graph. This controller designed in the concept of parametric, integrating in GPS data receiving system. It has been found that the design work stably, and easy to be transplanted to other SOPC system.
